The original Viking Club was co-founded by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1920 while he was a professor at the University of Leeds. At this club, undergraduates wrote, shared and discussed old Norse mythology while they drank beer and, no doubt, enjoyed smoking their pipes.
The Viking Pipe Club of Saint Louis was founded in the summer of 2008 for the express purpose of helping mid-county Saint Louisians explore and enjoy the art of pipe-smoking.
We currently meet about once a month at Brennan's in the Central West End of St. Louis.
